 We are glad to have you as our visitor and are excited to tell you, our story! Of course, you get to meet the lovely arctic sled dogs and play with some puppies of various ages.

Pascal tells you his mushing story and you get to know Ragnar and many others of the furry friends. A highlight is the taster ride of about 5 km, your own mushing moment. In case you are not comfortable with mushing your own team of huskies, one of the professional mushers will have you as their passenger.

Husky mushing experience 10 km

After you get acquainted with our friendly dogs and the farm, you get to enjoy a mushing experience. 

We take off from the farm to the nearby forest for a 10 km ride.
Depending on the season and snow conditions, we travel either by sledge on skis or kart on wheels. 

Each safari has one passenger and one musher (adults), and it is possible to change places during the trip, so on this tour you will both experience mushing and just relaxing as a passenger. 

Children travel with their parents, as passengers.
At Arctic Coast Mushing Center you meet Siberian Huskies, Groenland Dogs, Samoyedes and Yakutian Laikas – all primal arctic sled dog breeds. 

We have 72 dogs of all ages.

Husky mushing experience 20 km

Once you get into mushing, you might want to go for a longer tour. The longer tour is also a favorite of many nature and animal lovers. 

After thorough driving instructions, we take off from the farm for a 20 km ride.
Depending on the season and snow conditions, we travel either by sledge on skis or kart on wheels, (in that case 4 persons). 

Each carriage has one passenger and one musher (adults), and it is possible to change places during en route. 

On this tour you will both experience mushing and just relaxing as a passenger. Children travel with their parents, as passengers. 

We do not recommend this tour for children under 6 yrs.

You are greeted by the mushers and the enthusiastic arctic sled dogs. 
Siberian Huskies, Greenland Dogs and Yakutian Laikas.
Today you get to experience what riding in a sledge or kart pulled by a team of huskies is like. 

The mushers ask you to take a seat and admire the nature while they take you on a tour in the forest. The dogs might be barking impatiently before the take-off, but as they get to do what they love, they work in silence.
After the tour you will have time to cuddle with your new furry friends before it is time to leave the farm.

Tue & Thu 10:00-16:00

First, we get familiar with the dogs. Arctic sled dogs are herd animals and need the company of their kinds to feel well and thrive. 

But what does a musher do? Mushing is driving a sled pulled by a team of sled dogs, but there is so much more to being a musher. Mushers care for their dogs by feeding, loving, exercising, and entertaining them. 

Sounds like a fun life, huh? You get to try out and participate in the daily activities of the farm together with the musher.
During the day you get to know the dogs and maybe even find a favorite .

We enjoy an outdoor lunch and some hot beverages at the farm in between the chores. A true highlight of the day is the 10 km ride by sled or kart, for the dogs the exercise, for you the mushing!

General terms and conditions
Company liability insurance applies, covering injuries caused by the provided gear. We recommend a personal travel insurance covering personal belongings and injuries not covered by the company insurance.
All tours are guided and all prices incl. VAT.
All mushers must be min 150 cm tall and strong enough to steer the sled / cart with passengers and manage the team of dogs. We reserve the right to decline a person from mushing in case she / he is not physically fit or strong enough, is under the influence of alcohol or drugs or has a behaviour that is harmful for others, the dogs or her / him self.
Arctic Coast Mushing Center operates all mentioned tours.
Bookings and payments
Bookings are to be made by e-mail to arcticcoastconsulting@gmail.com. A booking shall include the following information: date and time of booked activity, first and last names of all participants, ages of children, travel dates, accommodation in Kalajoki and a phone number where you can be reached during your stay in Kalajoki.
All activities are due to advance payment, min 14 days before to event.
Changes in the program
Arctic Coast Mushing Center reserves the right to make alterations to the programs to ensure safety and comfort of the participants and the dogs.
Cancellations
Cancellations 30-21 days before the event: 25% cancellation fee
Cancellations 21-15 days before the event: 50% cancellation fee
Cancellations 14 days or less before the event: 100% cancellation fee
